One day, while reading your favorite book on the beach, you notice a boat slowly drifting to a shore. It eventually lands near your spot. A person, draped in pirate clothes, yells to you from the boat, "I have a treasure map and I need help. Are you in?"
My 10 minute writing to this was:
At first I was going to say "No," but thought, "Why is this person dressed like that? Why didn't he come into shore instead of yelling to me from his boat?"
So I called back, "Are you in any trouble?"
"No," he responded, but I need your help!"
I couldn't fathom why my little ol' self would be of any importance. I rose up and dragged out my rowboat. Pushing off, I started to paddle until I came up next to the pirate's boat.
"I have a map and 'X' marks the spot!" he exclaimed.
By now I was half curious and half irritated that his strange person drew me out to do God knows what.
Before our boats got close I saw him holding an old rolled up paper. Maybe that was his map.
"Over there," he pointed to the overhanging cliffs nearby.
So started my strange adventure with Captain Mike as we both moved over to the rocky shore.....
