'Who would have ever thought that I would inherit old Joe's house. Just the thought about having it sold gave me shivers. It was an old house, built back in the seventies. His will stated, "You will find treasure under leaves." That was all. The rest of his relatives had no clue what that meant, and I, just being his housekeeper, knew it wasn't for me.
I tidied up the kitchen and stepped outside for a moment to watch the gardener near the house. "Have you seen anything unusual on the grounds?" I called. He replied that he had not.
Later that afternoon, I set to clean out Joe's study. Books were scattered everywhere on the floor along with waste paper that had missed being thrown at the basket. I noticed that the dust was thick since he didn't let me come in here to clean. On his desk were folders in disarray. I opened the right hand lower drawer and saw a pile of papers stacked in an irregular manner. "He just threw them in there!" I exclaimed to myself. Naturally I picked them up to straighten them when I noticed a leather case underneath.
As I opened the case, I gasped, it was full of cash with a note made out to me: "To Judith, my housekeeper, who has always been at my side whenever I needed her." This was the 'leaves' he had spoke of in his will.
At that moment after I had counted out $5000, the old man's son entered the room.' (ding Time's Up).
