"Well, what do you want?" I asked looking down at the troop of felines.
"Meow," she whined.
Judging the little ones were hungry, I stepped inside my home and hoped I had enough milk left to offer them and the mother cat. There in the back of the refrigerator shelf was a half quart of milk I had been using for my breakfast cereal. Nearby, was a small plate of sliced turkey from my dinner I had last night. I filled up a saucer with the milk and brought the food out to the cats. By the time I arrived out on my porch, the kittens were wandering around but they waddled over as soon as I placed the bowl of milk down. I set the turkey leftover near the mother cats who didn't run away.
I called all my friends and neighbors and no one knew of any missing cats. The kittens licked the saucer clean and the grown cat ate all of the turkey. I guess I'll adopt these characters until I can find them new homes.©A.Nation2018
