I'm editing 3 books right now. My editor is still sending me edits for my previous book, I'm re-reading and editing my nano book, and when I caught something I did four years ago in my third book, that took precedence. I can't believe I wrote so many grammar errors back then. Yes, I had an excellent beta reader at the time, but she didn't find all of them.
Aside from my cave dwelling, what are you up to?
Mike checked and made sure the payload of the android count offloading into the Mars terminal agreed with his log. Next, he took inventory of a cart of service secured robots heading for Earth. The crew wheeled them underneath the fueling shuttle. He decided to examine those as well. Many of the androids were boxy housekeeping units. The humanoid androids lay bunched together on a carrier. Mike reviewed their serial numbers. A familiar number stood out from the rest of the Digital Embryonic Entity or D.E.E. units. He punched in the activation button of #4785.
“Do you need servicing?” the android asked.
“No, just want to make sure it was you, 4785. Remember me?”
“The human, Mike Carone. Alice is not here?” D.E.E. asked.
“No. You are heading back to Earth, I see.”
Mike recalled how cognitive this particular android and the Egroeg’s valet, Ramon, had become. Still, they were machines, and Mike continued to maintain that relationship.
“Yes, I was told a rest home. Is that where humans rest? Will I see Ramon?”
“Yes, rest. As for Ramon, that’s up to you. I have to turn you off. Have a good trip,” he said and powered the android down.
Mike turned to the operator who loaded another android on the carrier.
“Make sure they are packed tight. Wouldn’t want the Egroeg company after your hide.”
“Yes, sir, I’ll recheck the tie downs,” the crewman said.
When Mike looked up, he noticed a uniformed ahman approaching.
“Ser, there’s been a discovery outside. I was assigned to assist you,” said the two meter alien.
“And your name is?”
Just then Mike’s comphone beeped.
“Yeah?” he replied looking back at the ahman standing in front of him. “Yes, a Kantra is here. Any identification? Okay, we’ll be there.”
“Dang, this is the third body found in the last six months. Let’s get ourselves a rover, Kantra,” Mike said.©A.Nation2018

What is the next step? Reading my book over for the third time. Wow, there sure were a lot of plot holes. I'm tightening and loosening paragraphs. Here's a little excerpt from the first chapter:
Harry Brown, dressed in his only khaki suit, stepped out of his car and looked up and down the street. Nighttime had already arrived. He turned his head when he heard sirens in the distance, but they weren’t coming this way. Smoking the last bit of his cigarette, he threw it into the gutter. He ran across the two-lane street and entered the pay phone booth to make a phone call that would change the rest of his life.
“Yes, I have it,” Harry Brown said into the payphone receiver. “Pay me first, and then I’ll send it to you. You owe me. Good. Let me check my account.”
My MC isn't Harry. I can't tell you or it would be a spoiler. But I can tell you about my real MC, Rosetta Blessing. She's in her fifties, works in Washington, D.C., and wants to take a vacation. Thieves and murderers abound during her trip until she has to save her daughter from kidnappers. Stay tuned in for the adventures in Mystery Along the Danube. ARCs welcome©A.Nation2018.
