I use parody as a tool to ask questions and present questions we always ask ourselves. I made the aliens to look like us but inside they are not. They are who we may become years from now and you may not like the reflection. They don't look at relationships like we do, most of them don't believe strongly in a higher god, they believe in control of body and spirit. Why would I do this? This began as a writing experiment. It was my first attempt at creating a book. I believe in this country and it's soul of the people to do the right thing. It becomes increasingly disturbing to me when some with power side with greed for personal gain, leaving the rest of us without defense.
The story opens with a view of the aliens' world and their travels to meet us on Mars in the year 2423 A.D.
-Then changing the subject Dobi asked, “Are you gaining on ridding those weeds?”
“Weeds?! These here aren’t just weeds, my friend, they are ‘Unauthorized Plants!”
“That’s funny, old one, but why don’t you just call them weeds?”
“Cause everything that is Unauthorized, our government doesn’t allow. Why, I should be able to grow anything I want, but no, they want Monda melons in the nearby allotment field. Stupid things, drinks water like we have lots to give. So I grow them for the benefit of all. Thank the gods we don’t have many ‘have to-dos’ like they did before the conflicts.”-© A. Nation
